Aksana Mikalaeuna Shablinskaya is the mother of many children who lives in Verxnedvinsky’s district. Her family made it’s living by farming and for many years sold its crops to the local firms.
When Aksana decided to take part in local elections the authorities started to exert pressure on her family. Local people were always friendly towards her, but after the authorities “explained” them everything they started to call her “Beneefauka” (member of BNF). The firms they dealt with declined to buy her crops, the family was on the edge of bankruptcy and her husband had to leave and to seek for a job in Russia. On her daughter the pressure was exerted at school. Teachers tried to frighten her with different punishments. For Aksana it became almost impossible to get any necessary document from the authorities. But the woman managed to find people who help her in her civic activities, and in her battle for her rights. She is going to work in civic sector in order to improve the life of her neighbors and of our society in whole.
